Scope and Sequence for Coding
Coding, or computer science, is regularly explored during the lower school technology classes as it nurtures logical thinking, problem-solving and persistence, encouraging collaboration and communication skills and providing an amazing opportunities to be creative individually and in groups. Students are able to learn from experts, particularly in Hopscotch and use their drawing skills to create a multi level game in Floors. Lesson plans are also available for many of the apps indicated below to help the teacher or parent get started BUT trust the kids! Our students enjoy the challenge of coding and the apps below make it FUN that build throughout the lower school (ages indicated are a guide only).

During the week of December 7 to 13, 2015 our students took part in the 'Hour of Code,' a global movement bringing computer science to tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. The students explored some new coding resources, whilst working along-side students in other grade levels. Everyone had a great week and we will continue to code throughout the school year.
